General Characteristics of Agricultural, Industrial, and Information Age Job Distribution

Agricultural Age Jobs:
In agricultural communities producing food and handmade arts and crafts; peasants, serfs, and artisans.

Industrial Age Jobs:
In factories in cities producing mass-produced manufactured goods; more blue collar jobs.

Information Age Jobs:
In higher paying, skilled technology and professional jobs and lower paying, unskilled service sector jobs, creating danger of a tiered economy and decreased middle class ( the traditional counterstone of a democracy); more white collar jobs; also multiple jobs/careers in a lifetime.

In Canada's workforce(14.8million, 1994): Trade 18%, Manufacturing 15%, Transportation and communications 8%, Finance 7%, Public administration 7%, Construction 6%, Agriculture 4% Forestry and mining 2%, and other services 33%.
