Industrial Age Labor Union Membership: rise of labour uniors in Western capitalist countris, not socialist countries (where dictatorship of the proletariat or state was supposed to represent workers). Adversarial relations between worker and owner or managers in industrial Western countries.

Information Age Labor Union Membership: Decline in labour union membership in capitalist countries, with decrising blue coller jobs. Also movements tword workers wonership of stock in companies they work in, making them both workers and owners, thus eliminating thie traditional adversarial relationship. Recent rise of mass protestes by workers in communist countries, damaging better conditions, led to end of communism in some countries
