By Daryl R. Evans
General Characteristics of Agricultural, Industrial, and Information Age Job Distribution
-
Agricultural Age Jobs: Primary jobs in agricultural communities producing food and handmade arts and crafts; peasants, serfs and artisans.
-
Industrial Age Jobs: Primary jobs in factories in cities producing mass-produced manufactured goods; more blue collar jobs.
-
Information Age Jobs: Primary jobs in higher paying, skilled high technology and professional jobs and lower paying, unskilled service sector jobs, creating danger of a two-tiered economy and decreased middle class (the traditional cornerstone of a democracy); more white collar jobs; also multiple jobs/careers in a lifetime.
