Program Description
The Child Development major is a single-field major. A minor is not required. Required coursework is organized in five tiers – introductory, intermediate, advanced, specialized, and capstone. Each tier serves as preparation for the subsequent tier. Laboratory or fieldwork components are added to courses wherever appropriate so that students learn to put to practice the principles they learn in the classroom. Students are required to complete the requisite 55-62 units of General Education, 55 units in the major and 10 units of electives.
Currently, there are no “tracks” or “options” offered in the program. We are committed to supporting and guiding all students with diverse professional destinations and goals in child and family related professions.
