HUX 501 - Defining the Humanities: History
[Assignment 1] [Assignment 2] [Assignment 3] [ Online Section Instructions]
Additional Instructions for Online Sections (HUX 501 sections
99 and 41 only)
Online sections are numbered 501.99 or 501.41. So if you are enrolled in one
of these sections, you are in an online section. The instructions for these
sections differ only a little from the other sections. You still should rely
on the HUX 501 Course Guide mailed to you for the principal course assignments
and resources.
1. Please submit your essays via email whenever possible. Information about your instructor for this section should have been included in the course packet you received from the HUX office. Once you have sent in your essay, the instructor will respond in a week or so by email with an evaluation of your essay. Send the essay as an "Attachment" to your email note, formatted in any version of Word. Note: if you are using WordPerfect, you can select “Save As” and then save the document in Word format. Do NOT send the text in the body of the email message, since it lacks all formatting this way. Do not send two copies.
2. If you are enrolled one of these sections, you do not need to complete any assignments beyond the three major essays. But you are encouraged to stay in contact with the instructor and other students in the program by email and by participating in the Discussion Boards on the Blackboard web page for this course. Below are instructions for accessing this site:
In order to log on to the Hux 501 web page on Blackboard, you need to go to http://toro.csudh.edu and follow the instructions. Every student enrolled at CSUDH has been assigned a Blackboard username and password. Everyone enrolled in the online section of Hux 501 will see a link to its web page once they log on to their Blackboard account.
In most cases, your username is the first initial of your first name and your last name (John Jones: jjones). Your password is usually six numbers (including zeros where appropriate) representing your date of birth (November 2, 1978: 110278). Links from the web page below (http://toro.csudh.edu) tell you how to find your username and password if you can’t guess them using this method. Then log on and you should see the link to our web page.
