ASSIGNMENTS
Students are responsible for a total of eight written assignments, each 4
to 6 pages in length. If you feel compelled to write 7 pages, nobody will complain.
If you write 8 pages, however, I will complain.
Assignments are due as follows: Your first 4 papers must be in my mailbox at
the end of Week 8. These papers will be returned to you as quickly as possible
to provide feedback. Don’t wait for their return; just keep on working.
Assume that you are doing splendidly. The final 4 papers are due at the end
of Week 15 and your evaluation and final letter grade will be sent to you as
they are due.
Papers must be typed, double spaced, edited with care and in all other ways
in accordance with MLA specifications regarding research papers. Send an extr4a
copy, marked “for HUX file” and keep a copy for yourself. If you
wish your manuscript returned with commentary, please enclose a stamped SASE.
Stamps are unnecessary for students outside the continental U.S. If you do not
fully understand an assignment (or need help otherwise) fell free to telephone
the instructor, or mail, or e-mail, or send your questions by carrier pigeon.
