COURSE OBJECTIVES
The purposes of this course are to:
- Become acquainted with three periods of human history in some of their cultural aspects.
- Consider the meanings of "culture," "progress," and
"evolution."
- Grapple with some of the key questions about the relation of the individual to the
community.
- Practice thinking and writing about general ideas in terms of specific examples.
