Accessing Banner with Internet Explorer
- On campus link to Banner: Banner.csudh.edu
- Off campus link to Banner: BannerOnline.csudh.edu
We recommend a minimum of 128 MB of memory and up-to-date Internet Explorer software. Banner Version 7.3 requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024 X 768 pixels.
Please follow all of the steps and read all of the information listed below prior to using Banner.
Note: Linux and Unix Banner users should continue to use the existing Citrix client to access Banner.
Getting started:
- The first time you run Banner, it will look for Java software.
- Your machine is capable of running INB if you will see this cup of "java" in the upper left hand corner of the screen:

- The login prompt will come up momentarily depending on your connection to the server. The response time should be instantaneous if you are on campus. If you are accessing from off campus, the wait time will depend on your Internet connection.
- You must NOT close the original Web browser window that spawned the Banner session. If you close this browser window, your Banner session will be terminated. Open a new browser window if you wish to browse the Internet while keeping your Banner session open.
- If you see this on your screen, Java has not be installed on your machine:
- Please contact the IT Help Desk at x2500 regarding the installation of a Java client. You need to install either the Microsoft version of Java or the Sun version of Java, Virtual Machine (JVM or JRE). You can download a copy of Sun JRE for Windows here.
- Make sure you click "Always" on the next screen; otherwise you'll see this question again the next time you try to run Banner:

The login prompt should come up momentarily.
- Please refer to the training documentation for more details about logging into Banner. See Banner Training for news about Banner training.
