Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Important Notice:
On December 23, 2009, CSUDH launched the new toroMail powered by Google. Your toroMail powered by Google account is the e-mail account that receives communication from University offices.

If you are a continuing or former student who had a student e-mail account at CSUDH before December 23, 2009, you used an old toroMail system. That system retired completely on April 30, 2010.

toroMail powered by Google FAQ

Q: Can I access toroMail with my smart phone?
A:
toroMail is not supported for any telephone devices at the current time. However, expect the feature to be added in the future.

Q: What are the benefits offered by toroMail?
A: Students get 7 GB of e-mail storage, attachments up to 20MB in size can be sent, and Google calendaring is available.

Q: I already have a Gmail account, so I don't need this one, right?
A: Wrong. The university sends important e-mails to your campus e-mail account, so you will need to log into your toroMail account on a regular basis in order to see registration appointment times, financial aid awards, etc.

Q: Can I take my toroMail account with me when I leave the University?
A: Yes. Your toroMail account does not expire.

Q: I can log into MyCSUDH/toroMail/Blackboard, but I can't log into the campus wireless network or the student computer lab network. What should I do?
A: Take your photo ID to the IT Help Desk in WH 370. Once your eligibility [enrollment] is determined, your lab/wireless account will be enabled.

Q: Is there a charge to CSUDH students to use the open access computer labs?
A:
There is no charge for currently enrolled CSUDH students to use IT's open access computer labs. Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) provides generous grants that contribute to lab upgrades through the student technology fee. Labs cannot be used by persons who are not eligible.
