Q: When I navigate to a form, all I get is a little popping sound.
A: Banner is probably telling you that you have to enable popups in your browser in order to see the form. See enable popups in MS Internet Explorer for details. Furthermore, Google and Yahoo toolbars can cause trouble with Banner. We recommend uninstalling such "extra" toolbars before using Banner.
On the other hand, if you do not have your speakers turned on, you may not hear a sound at all. If you navigate to a form, hear nothing [speakers turned off], and nothing happens, check your IE popup setting.
Q: When I choose Options>Show Document in GJIREVO, nothing happens.
A: Again, this is probably an indication that popups are disabled. (Show Document opens a new window.) See enable popups in MS Internet Explorer for details about enabling popups in Banner. Actually, in this case the IE dialog box warning that popups are disabled is displayed on the original Web screen, not the Java screen.
Q: Banner is telling me that my password is going to expire. What do I do?
A: Log into Banner, and at the main Banner menu, enter GUAPSWD in the Go to... box, and press Enter. That will take you to the change password form (GUAPSWD). Enter your current password, then a new password, and then confirm the new password. That's it.
Q: What transfer units are accepted?
A: Decisions about transferability of units are handled in the Admissions & Records unit.
Q: What is the name of the class roster process (report)?
A: SYRCLST
Q: What is the name of the waiting list process?
A: It’s SYRCLST again. Enter WL in the waitlist parameter (#14) to see a list of only waitlisted students for the section.
Q: How can I see an unofficial transcript in Banner?
A: Go to toroWeb, a.k.a. Faculty Web. Then follow these directions, Print Transcript from toroWeb, to see an unofficial transcript.
