Manage your Password

Information Technology launched DHNet, a password management service, in December 2006. DHNET allows you to change your current password—or to create a new one if you've forgotten it. At the DHNET home page, click the Change Password button to change/reset your password.

But first, to take advantage of this self-service password reset, you must set up two security questions with answers ahead of time. At DHNET, click Setup Security Questions.

Using DHNET to manage your passwords is the only way to change and synchronize all of your network, e-mail, and PeopleSoft passwords. By using DHNET, the same username and password will work for all PeopleSoft applications, Blackboard, Exchange e-mail and your Windows desktop. DHNET works even if your password has expired.

What happens if you get a message from Windows telling you it's time to change your password? Short answer: Don't use the Windows password change box to reset your password. If you do, your password for Exchange and Windows will be different from the one you'll be using for PeopleSoft and Blackboard. Better solution: Go directly to DHNET when you get the Windows warning, and change your password there. Then your password will be synchronized for all of your applications.

With the migration from Banner to PeopleSoft, students must also use DHNET to reset their passwords for MyCSUDH and other applications. A student will have a single username and password for MyCSUDH, toroMail (student e-mail), the Welch Hall computer labs, wireless access, and Blackboard.

If you forget your password and security questions or you haven't set them up, you can always call the IT Help Desk for assistance. They will give you a one-time-use temporary password to use on DHNET to reset your permanent password.

If you have any questions about this password management service, contact the IT Help Desk at x2500 or helpdesk@csudh.edu.
