Overview
Established in 1965, California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) is a comprehensive co-educational public institution. As one of twenty-three campuses of the California State University System, the largest four-year public university system in the United States, it is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The university offers a wide variety of liberal arts, science, business, education, health and other professional programs, at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The campus is medium-sized, with more than 12,000 students. The university is unique in that it provides an overall 21:1 student-faculty ratio that fosters personal attention and enhances learning.

Location
CSUDH is located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area, only minutes away from beautiful Southern California beaches, less than an hour from Hollywood, Disneyland, and Universal Studios. It has a beautiful 346 acre campus that includes the Home Depot Sports Center, home of the LA Galaxy soccer team.
The climate here is mild, Mediterranean-like, with temperatures averaging 1° -19° Celsius in the winter and 24° - 28° Celsius in the summer.
CSUDH is a 20 minute drive from LAX Airport and is connected by the green and blue lines of the Metro Rail system.

Academic Calendar
The university academic calendar offers students the opportunity to complete classes in the following semesters and sessions:
Fall Semester
- A 15 week semester that goes from late August through late December.
- Mandatory for international student full-time enrollment.
Spring Semester
- A 15 week semester that goes from late January through late May.
- Mandatory for international student full-time enrollment.
Winter Session
- A 3 week session in January.
- Optional for international enrollment but classes are offered at significantly reduced prices and can accelerate the graduation process.
Summer Session I
- A 6 week session that goes from early June to mid-July.
- Optional for international enrollment but classes are offered at significantly reduced prices and can accelerate the graduation process.
Summer Session II
- A 6 week session that goes from mid-July through late August.
- Optional for international enrollment but classes are offered at significantly reduced prices and can accelerate the graduation process.
