Growing up as the only male in his family, Omar never knew the meaning of brotherhood or had anyone close enough to call a brother. Entering college, joining a fraternity was the last thing on his mind. In Spring of 1999 a Latin Based fraternity captured his attention. This Fraternity was Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Incorporated. Seeing the strong brotherhood that each brother shared with each other was all he needed to see to get his attention , but he wanted to understand that brotherhood. In Spring of 2001, he set out to pledge for Lambda Theta Phi along with Gerardo Arredondo and Jose Jaime. As a brother of Lambda Theta Phi he has gained many tools that have made him a better person and most of all he can finally say that he can understand what true brotherhood is all about.
His future goals are to graduate from Cal State Dominguez Hills and to obtain a job in a Business field. Omar states "I don't know what the future holds for me, but what ever it may be good or bad I can say that I have brothers that I can always count on."
