A Math Competition

First place winners earn $50 each

Teams of 2 will compete in a game show-style contest.  The first place team members will each earn $50.  Prizes will also be given to second and third place teams. 

The game will be played in 3 rounds.  Round one will consist of 25 available questions in 5 categories:  Mathematicians and History, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Calculus, and Wild Card, with the first team to answer earning between 10 and 50 points.  The second round will give teams the opportunity to answer several 50-point questions in a longer time format, and the final round will allow the team to wager its points on a single question.

 

Any undergraduate student currently enrolled at CSUDH, with no previous bachelor’s degree, is eligible to compete.  For more information, or to sign up your team, please email mjones@csudh.edu .

Individuals or teams please sign up by Monday, April 3.  Individuals who sign up will have the opportunity to form partnerships immediately prior to the contest.
