Professional Interests

My interests are in mathematics education at all levels, but especially the teaching and learning of algebra and algebraic thinking, and professional development with K-12 or college instructors and its effects on participants. I am also delving into the study of students’ beliefs and their relationship to achievement.

I am also an algebraic geometer, and my work has been in the area of regularity of smooth varieties.
