The rules for adding and dropping classes are spelled out on p. 63 of the 2003-04 University Catalog.
Students who wish to add courses, including those who were "washed out" because they missed a deadline for paying fees, should turn in their add/late registration cards as soon as possible. The period for adding courses in Spring semester 2004 runs from January 26 to February 12, 2004. Instructor approval is required. Students who wish to add MAT 009, 105, 107, 131, 153, 191, or 207 must also obtain an ELM stamp from the University Advisement Center or the Mathematics Department Office showing that their ELM status is approved.
Students may drop courses from Jan. 26 to Feb. 12 without receiving a "W" on their records.
Students who miss the first two class meetings may be dropped by their instructors. Instructors should inform the registrar of this action by the end of the second week of classes.
Students who do not meet course prerequisites may be dropped by their instructors. (This is implied on p. 69 of the catalog.)
Students must make sure that they are registered in their classes. Any student who is not on the offical roster after the Feb. 12 deadline is NOT registered. It is the student's responsibility to register on time. Students who are not registered will not receive credit and cannot continue in the course.
