The goal of CSU-LSAMP is to broaden participation in science, mathematics, engineering and technology (STEM) disciplines and contribute to the national agenda to increase the number of underrepresented minorities receiving baccalaureate degrees in STEM disciplines. The CSU-LSAMP program offers free workshops to supplement selected science and math classes at CSUDH. The workshops are voluntary and are open to ALL science and math students. The CSU Alliance for Minority Participation program pays for the workshops and pays stipends to students who attend the workshops if they meet certain other conditions, as stated in the contract for AMP enrollees. Workshops generally meet 6 hours per week and are led by advanced student facilitators. Students work cooperatively in the workshops on challenging material that enhances their performance in class. Experience shows that students who regularly attend workshops score from one- half to one full grade point higher in class than their peers who do not attend workshops. The friendships and contacts with other workshop students that workshop participants develop through their participation help them excel throughout their college years.

Please contact Serban Raianu to get a username and a password for WeBWorK, which is an interactive system allowing you to solve problems and get instant feedback and credit for them online. Everybody is welcome to try the system, but AMP participants will also receive workshop credit hours for solving the problems (1 hour for every 10 problems solved). CSUDH Math Department/AMP Colloquium:

AMP participants who attend the Wednesday Math Colloquium will receive two workshop credit hours for each talk they attend. Schedule
