Flexible course covering topics in intermediate algebra and geometry beyond those that are covered in the basic remedial MAT 011-014 sequence. Aimed at preparing students for more technical university level math and science courses (e.g. precalculus).
MAT 015 meets three hours per week for five weeks. It is a pre-collegiate course. It is graded on a CR/NC basis and does not count toward the Bachelor's degree.
To enroll in MAT 015 students must show they have credit in MAT 014 or equivalent.

After completing MAT 015 the student should be able to solve more technical problems in intermediate algebra and geometry beyond the topics covered in MAT 011-014. Such topics may include rational functions, radical equations, two and three dimensional geometry, etc.
Students will strengthen their skills in mathematics and skills that are needed in more technical science and math courses.
Evaluations will be based on progress reports produced by tutorial software (ALEKS) and the results of a final exam.
MAT 015 is a CR/NC class. To earn credit students must spend at least 15 hours actively working on tutorial software or participating in equivalent tutoring, and pass a proficiency exam.

There are no make-up exams.
Students are required to spend a minimum of 3 hours per week in a supervised area actively working with the ALEKs software.
The mathematics department does not tolerate cheating.
