CSU Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) is proud to participate as a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity College (SOC), a consortium of more than 1,700 colleges and universities providing post-secondary education to members of the military world-wide.

CSUDH recognizes the unique nature of the military lifestyle and is committed to easing the transfer of relevant course credits, providing flexible academic residency requirements, and crediting learning from appropriate military training and experiences.

CSUDH offers an excellent portfolio of campus-based as well as 100% distance Certificates, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees well-suited to the needs of the modern servicemember.

In addition to active duty personnel, CSUDH extends the following military friendly “advanced credit” policies to Veterans, active and retired Reservists, and active and retired members of the National Guard.

Advanced Credit
Students may be awarded up to 90 semester credits toward their degree using one or more of the following:

Transfer Credits: As much as 3 years of previously completed applicable coursework (90 semester credits) may be transferred from other colleges and universities. A maximum of 70 lower division semester credits may be transferred from Community Colleges.

Military Training: As much as 90 semester college credits may be granted for military training as recommended by the American Council of Education (ACE).

Military Service: A total of 6 lower division semester credits will be granted for one or more years of active military duty with an honorable discharge.

Prior Learning: Up to 12 semester credits may be granted for job and work experience, personal enrichment, or participation in conferences and workshops through portfolio assessment.

Extension & Special Session Credits: Up to 24 semester credits of Extension and Special Session coursework taken through the College of Extended and International Education may be used to fulfill CSUDH residency, degree and major requirements.

Credits by Examination: College credit may be granted for successful completion of CLEP, DANTES/DSAA and Advance Placement examinations.
