Course Description
This course covers emergency response, Safety measures, and the formation of fire brigades in the oil, gas and petroleum industry. Global, OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards are addressed.

Prerequisite None

Student Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, the successful student will be able to:

  • Describe Global, OSHA and Cal/OSHA petroleum operations
  • Identify the major hazards that shaped emergency responses in the petroleum industry
  • Compare global fire brigade activity with OSHA and Cal/OSHA
  • Recognize the effectiveness of recovery response in petroleum disasters

Assessment and Evaluation of Student Performance
100% attendance is the sole basis for assessing a student’s performance

Grading Scale
CEU – CR/NC – CEU 3.2

Attendance Policy   Students are expected to attend all class sessions and to be in class on time. No absences are allowed.
