OSHA 3110 - OSHA Fall Arrest Systems
An overview of state-of-the-art technology for fall protection and current OSHA requirements, including the principles of fall protection, the components of fall arrest systems, the limitations of fall arrest equipment, and OSHA policies regarding fall protection. Participate in a one-day field exercise demonstrating fall protection equipment.
Required Prerequisites:
- 21(D) State Consultants: #510 and #1500 Basic Onsite Consultation program
- Other Federal Agency or Department personnel: Course #510 and #6000 or #6010
- Private Sector and Other Non-Federal Government personnel: Course #510
Personal Protective Equipment:
Safety shoes, hard hats, safety glasses, and appropriate clothing for the field exercise.
When you complete this course you will be able to:
- Identify the most common fall hazards found in many areas of construction sites.
- Locate the correct OSHA standard in 29 CFR 1926.
- Identify correct methods of abatement for common fall arrest hazards.
