Health
Facilities Fee ($6.00/year): This fee
is paid by all students enrolled at CSUDH and
covers the costs of repayment for building construction
(originally financed by an extended-pay bond
measure), and provides for the maintenance,
repair and required improvements and equipment
replacement in a campus Student Health facility.
Health
Services Fee ($80.00/year): Every regularly
enrolled CSUDH student pays a mandatory Health
Services Fee of $40.00 per semester. This fee
entitles the student to medical treatment of
acute illnesses and injuries in the Student
Health Center. It supports a trained professional
medical staff, including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners
and Nurses, Pharmacist, Laboratory Technologist,
Health Educator, X-Ray Technologist and support
staff. The funding also assures that in-house
laboratory and diagnostic X-ray procedures are
performed without additional cost to students.
Elective services, orthopedic supplies, off-site
reference laboratory tests, and pharmacy prescriptions
are available at minimal additional costs to
all eligible students.
Instructional
Related Activities Fee ($10.00/year):
This fee, paid by all CSUDH students, was established
to provide support for essential educational
experiences and activities that aid and supplement
the fundamental educational mission of the institution.
One of its objectives is to reduce the demands
on the Associated Students funds for instructionally
related activities so that the Student Body
Fee can be used to underwrite authorized programs
and services based on student priorities. Instructionally
related activities are those activities which
are at least partially sponsored by an academic
discipline or department and which are integrally
related to its instructional offerings. Examples
include, but are not limited to: "hands-on"
experience in radio, television, film; music
and dance performances; drama and musical productions;
art exhibitions; intercollegiate athletic events;
publications; etc.
Student
Center Fee ($210.00/year): Paid by all
students enrolled at CSUDH, this fee is the
primary financial support for the University
Student Union operations and programs. Fees
are used to repay interest and bonds related
to original construction, personnel to maintain
and operate the facility and its programs, landscape
maintenance, equipment, programs, activities
and overhead costs such as utilities.
Student
Activity Fee ($140.00/year): Paid by
all students at CSUDH, this fee is composed
of: $3.00/year for the Center of Learning and
Academic Support to provide campus-wide tutoring
open to all students and includes the wages
paid for student tutors; $3.00/year for the
Child Development Center to provide limited
child care services and includes costs for materials,
nutrition, salaries and wages, maintenance,
insurance and other related expenses; $19.00/year
for the Athletics Department for scholarships,
equipment, programming, hourly game technician,
etc., directly related to student participation
in intercollegiate athletics (fee is not used
for salaries and wages of athletic administrators,
attendants, coaches, staff, or trainers); $35.00/year
for student programming for and by various campus
clubs and organizations providing activities
throughout the year, and for student government
(ASI) business operations including accounting
services, insurance, salaries and benefits for
two professional staff and various student assistants.
Associated Students, Inc. operates a charitable
and educational organization exercising self-governance
in the conduct of student activities for the
general welfare of the entire student body of
Dominguez Hills.
