Super-Kamiokande

The Super-Kamiokande detector is is the largest and most sensitive water Cherenkov light detector ever built. It is 39 meters in diameter and 41 meters in height. The detector is located 1000 meters underground in the Kamioka silver mine in Kamioka-cho Gifu, Japan. It will provide unprecedented sensitivity to solar neutrinos and nucleon decay.
