The Course Numbering System

[Supersedes PM 78-26]

There is a current effort being made in the CSU system to develop a consistent numbering system for all continuing education activities.  Consonant with this effort we are revising the designations for 800 and 900 level courses as follows:

                    800-899        Non-academic extension level credit for professional advancement

                    900-999        Non-credit Continuing Education Units (CEUs).  A nationally recognized measure

                                       of attendance at professional training programs

Non-credit      General interest courses that carry no credit on transcript
