The Lyle E. Gibson Distinguished Teacher Award

and

The CSU Outstanding Professor Award

The Academic Senate has recommended that members of the faculty be recognized for their excellence in having received the Lyle E. Gibson Distinguished Teacher Award or The California State University Outstanding Professor Award.  Specifically, the Academic Senate has recommended that this be noted in the University Catalog.

In order to implement this the following policy is approved.  It will be effective with the publication of the next University Catalog for 1985-87.

Faculty members who have received the Lyle E. Gibson Distinguished Teacher Award will be listed in the University Catalog as follows:

            John Smith, Lyle E. Gibson Distinguished Teaching

            Professor of _________.

Faculty members who receive the Outstanding Professor Award from the Board of Trustees of The California State University will be listed in the University Catalog as follows:

            Mary Brown, Trustees Distinguished Professor of ________.

This is a well-deserved recognition for a number of our colleagues and in fact is one more manifestation of the maturing of this institution.
