 [Supersedes PM 88-02

Revised 12/21/93]

A student with a graduate degree objective must maintain continuous attendance defined as attendance in regular or special session each fall and spring semester of the *academic year.  Attendance in summer session is not required.

Students who have completed all course work but who may not have completed the culminating activity are expected to maintain continuous attendance as defined above.  Students who have completed the maximum number of units required for the degree may maintain continuous attendance after completion of course work by enrolling in regular university courses or in a graduate continuation course offered through regular or special session for zero (0) units.

Absences due to a Planned Graduate Student Leave shall not be considered an interruption in attendance.  Graduate students who fail to maintain continuous attendance must reapply to the university and the graduate program and will be subject to all new requirements of the university and the graduate program

This policy is effective immediately and will apply to all students currently in the process of completing master=s degrees as well as future students.

*An academic year begins in the fall and consists of two consecutive semesters, fall and spring.
