One of the region's most prestigious scholarships, the Presidential Scholars Program at CSUDH recognizes and rewards the outstanding academic achievements and contributions of local high school and community college students.

Since 1990, the Presidential Scholars Program has provided a pathway for our community's exceptional students to access and afford a university education from an institution recognized for its academic strength.

CSUDH recognizes our Presidential Scholars’ achievements with bespoke events throughout the year. This includes a fall reception with President Parham and special recognition at Commencement, where graduating Scholars receive a medallion.

Presidential Scholars are gifted a laptop stocked with all the software they will need for their major such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Research Opportunities

Collaborating side-by-side with accomplished faculty, Scholars have the opportunity to participate in groundbreaking research projects. Scholars can dig deeper into their specific areas of study, build a portfolio of impressive work, present papers at conferences and exchange ideas with the leading minds in their field.

Lunch with President Parham

CSUDH President Parham takes a personal interest and pride in every Presidential Scholar. Presidential Scholars share their experiences as students and leaders-in-the-making during special lunches with President Parham, hosted twice each semester.

Community and Campus Involvement

Presidential Scholars represent their university and fellow students as CSUDH ambassadors. In this rewarding role, Scholars can participate in a number of outreach activities to improve their communities and build leadership skills while inspiring other students to reach their potential.
