"We make a living by what we get, We make a life by what we give."
- Winston Churchill

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world"

Phi Sigma Sigma seeks to make a difference not only in the personal lives of its members,
but also in the community at large.

Since the day of Phi Sigma Sigma's founding, members have always been active in philanthropic endeavors. The Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation encompasses all of the Fraternity's educational and philanthropic funds. The Foundation exemplifies the basic principle of the twin ideals set down by our Founders so many years ago, "The brotherhood of man and the alleviation of the world's pain." In 1969, the Phi Sigma Sigma Fraternity established the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation as an extension of the Philanthropy Fund.

The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is our National philanthropy, which we support through the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation. As a result of Phi Sigma Sigma’s commitment and partnership with NKF, medical professionals and the general public are now more aware of the fact that the ravaging effects of kidney disease, can often be altered or eliminated.

Heart-raisers are philanthropic projects by which one donates time and talents instead of money. Both collegiate and alumnae chapters participate in a variety of community service projects. Chapters are encouraged to develop relationships with local agencies including women’s shelters, hospitals, schools, nursing homes and after school programs. For more information on volunteer opportunities in your area, contact your local volunteer or community service center.
