The annual CSUDH Student
Research Day provides a unique opportunity for graduate and
undergraduate scholars to share their research or
creative projects within a supportive community of peers and
faculty. Undergraduate students anticipating graduate work
at either the master's or doctoral levels or graduate students
continuing in doctoral programs are especially invited to
participate.
Students may elect to give a 10 minute oral
presentation in a session with five minutes for questions and
answers along with other presentations in their
discipline or present their work as a poster or demonstration at
the Student Research Day "Expo."
The "Expo" will be held in
the pre-function area outside the Loker Student Union Ballroom
and will remain on display throughout the day. It will
feature student posters, demonstrations and displays that are
best accommodated by this method of presentation.
Students will be assigned a specific time to present at their
poster, demonstration or display so that visitors may ask
questions and better understand the research, scholarly or
creative activity of each student.
Students giving oral
presentations will be judged and top presenters will receive
$100.
Based upon the judging results, up to 10 student oral
presentations will be selected for presentation the annual
California State University Student Research Competition. The
statewide competition will be held in spring 2010 on a
California State University campus to be named. In the 2009 competition,
one CSUDH presentation received a runner-up award of $250.
