Rideshare Policy

Participants must be currently registered in the Employee Commuter Reduction Program in order to be eligible for any Rideshare incentives. Furthermore, participants understand and agree to abide by the regulations that apply to their subsidizes or parking permits and agree to park in the area assigned. If a carpool splits up, participants must agree to surrender their carpool tag permits; and realize that an individual driver is not entitled to the same type of permit that two or more would receive while participating in a carpool.

Policies For Ridesharing, Carpooling, and Vanpooling:

  • Vanpoolers must pay the applicable monthly fee through Cashier Office or directly to Vanpool provider.
  • Each participating member of a vanpool or carpool must agree to comply with the guidelines of the program.
  • Should a rideshare, carpool, or vanpool lose participants and is no longer eligible for the respective parking privileges, the remaining participants will have thirty days to add new or replacement participants.
  • If a carpool or vanpool disbands, the remaining individuals will be offered available options.
  • Unprofessional behavior or fraudulent activity will result in the suspension of privileges. This includes forging parking permits, selling permits, displaying out-of-date permits, transferring or trading permits to another party, or any other action determined to be fraudulent.
  • Carpool hanging tags are valid for one year.

Policies for Public Transit Benefits:

  • CSUDH pays a reduced or full fare for eligible participants.
  • Each participant must agree to comply with the guidelines of the program.
  • Should an employee change their commuting habit (without notifying the Rideshare Office of changes), participants are no longer eligible for the respective privileges.
  • If a participant reduces the number days agreed, benefits are reduced, too.
  • Monthly subsidies are available on the 1st of the month--no exceptions.
  • Unprofessional behavior and fraudulent activity will result in the suspension of privileges. This includes forging parking permits, selling permits, displaying out-of-date permits, transferring or trading permits to another party, or any other action determined to be fraudulent.
  • Active status is valid for one year.
