Financial Aid Office

The Financial Aid Office provides financial assistance to students through grants, loans, scholarships and work opportunities. Fall 2012 financial aid refund checks are scheduled to be mailed to students a few days before the first week of classes.

Some students will be required by the Federal Government to submit supporting documentation to complete and verify their financial aid application.  When this occurs, these documents must have been submitted to the financial aid office well in advance of the start of the semester and by the posted document deadline date of May 17, 2012.

To receive a financial aid disbursement, students must be enrolled in the proper number of units, must not have any university holds on their student record, must not be conditionally admitted to the university, and submitted all requested documents by the deadline of May 17, 2012.  Students interested in borrowing a Federal Direct Loan must be enrolled at least half-time (6 units undergraduate and credential: 4 units masters level courses), AND are required to complete an Electronic Master Promissory Note (EMPN) and a Loan Entrance Interview online at www.studentloans.gov.

Federal Pell Grant Recipients:  Your financial aid award is based on full-time enrollment (12 units undergraduate and credential).  To receive your award, you must be enrolled.  If you enroll ¾ time (9-11 units), your grant will be reduced by 75% of the award amount.  If you enroll half-time (6-8 units), your grant will be reduced by 50% of the award amount.  If you enroll less than half-time (1-5 units), your grant will be reduced by 25% of the award amount.

Office Hours for the first two weeks of the Fall semester only:

Monday - Thursday	8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Friday	8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
1st Saturday of the semester	8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

 

Office Hours for the remainder of the semester:

Monday - Thursday	8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday	8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
