1. How do I declare my major?
Students can declare a major or minor by filling out a form provided by the Admissions and Records office.
2. How do I change a major?
Students can change their major by filling out the Change of Major form provided by the office of Admissions and Records.
3. How can I get help with choosing a major?
The Student Development office provides assistance with selecting a major.
4. How do I get my registration holds released?
Students can go to the department that placed the hold on their record to find out what needs to be done to have the hold released.
5. How do I register for classes?
Students can log on to toroWeb to register for classes. See the current class schedule for deadlines.
6. How do I add/drop classes?
Students can add and drop classes via toroWeb or by filling out a Change of Program form provided by the Admissions and Records office. See current class schedule for deadlines.
7. Am I automatically dropped from a class if I don’t attend the first class session?
No. However, the instructor may drop you for not attending. Whether or not the instructor drops you, it is still your responsibility to officially drop a course.
8. How do I completely withdraw from classes?
You can completely withdraw from your classes by completing a Withdrawal form provided by the Admissions and Records office. Keep in mind, you must do so within the term and by the deadline. See current class schedule for deadlines.
9. What are the fees?
The registration fees vary. Consult the current class schedule or the Cashier’s Office for fee information.
10. How can I get a student assistant or work-study job on campus?
To find out about student positions on campus, visit the MonsterTRAK for CSUDH site hosted by the Student Development office. The password to view jobs is alumni.
11. How do I find out my grades?
Students can access grades through the toroWeb, or the Toro Touch Kiosks located in Admissions and Records, Loker Student Union and the University Library.
12. How do I appeal a grade?

13. When does school start?
Students can refer to the Academic Calendar in the current class schedule for exact dates for the semester.
14. Where do I purchase a parking permit?
Daily parking permits can be purchased at the permit dispensers located near the parking lots throughout the campus. Semester parking permits are available for purchase at the Cashier’s Office.
15. How can I get the phone number for a faculty or staff person?
You can get the phone numbers for faculty and staff on the Online Faculty/Staff Directory Search page.
16. Where are the locations of the computer labs?
Technology plays an important role on our campus. You can find computer labs in the University Library, Welch Hall, and other areas on campus.
17. What are the library hours?
The University Library has special hours of operation during breaks and finals. Please call the Library information line at (310)243-3715 or refer to the University Library web page.
18. How do I get a library card?
Students can sign the Library Patron registration form to register as a library user.
19. Where do I go for academic advising?
Undergraduate students who do not have a major can go to the University Advisement Center for academic advising. Undergraduate students with a major or graduate students should go to their major department for advising.
20. Where can I go on campus for medical assistance?
Students can go to the Student Health Center for medical assistance. The Center is staffed by a group of dedicated health care professionals. For information regarding services, go to the Student Health and Psychological Services site.
21. How do I get involved in student organizations?
There are many student organizations on campus, ranging from clubs and Greek organizations.
22. When is finals week?
Students can refer to the class schedule for finals week information.
23. How do I find a tutor?
You can go to the Center for Learning and Academic Support Services (CLASS) website for more details. They offer tutoring in a variety of subjects.
24. How do I enroll in the Honors Programs?
