Prerequisite to the Tier II Program and earning a Tier II Credential:
Prerequisite to the Tier II Program and earning a Tier II Credential:
  1. Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential candidate shall, prior to admission to the Tier II credential program, be employed full-time in a position requiring an administrative credential. Statutory basis: Education Code Section 44270
  2. Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential candidate, prior to admission to the credential program, possess a valid Preliminary Administrative Services Credential.
  3. Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential candidate, prior to being recommended by CSUDH for the Tier II credential, verify completion of a minimum of two years of successful experience in a full-time administrative position in a public school or private school of equivalent status while holding the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential. Statutory basis: Education Code Section 44270.1 (a)(2). Candidates must be in their 2nd year of an administrative position to start this program.

Course Descriptions:

  • EAD 580 Professional Leadership Pre-Assessment, Induction Plan (2 units)
    The candidate, the university faculty member, and the site mentor together develop a professional credential induction plan for the support and professional development for the candidate based on the six themes of the 2004 CCTC Professional Standards.
  • EAD 581 Principles of Professional Practice, 6 themes (3 units, repeatable*)
    This course has a strong conceptual base and is organized to address principles of administrative practice per CCTC’s six thematic areas. Specialization and individualization occur by determining specialized strands and individualized learning opportunities as specified in the candidate’s induction plan.
  • EAD 582 Professional Leadership Post-Assessment (2 units)
    The expectations developed in candidate’s induction plan aligned are assessed to determine if the CCTC professional standards are satisfied. Candidate expectations will be different for each candidate, depending on past experiences, current job assignments, and future career development goals and plans.

Registration through Extended Education

Students must register for EAD 580, EAD 581, and EAD 582 at the same time for a total of 7 units = $TBD. Students must be fully paid to attend the first class, EAD 580, May, 2009. To register:
