Research
Our program emphasizes the
preparation of school administrators
who will become instructional
leaders capable of meeting the needs
of urban schools both today and in
the future. The faculty and students
collaborate by researching the
answer to one of the most compelling
questions facing urban school
leaders: How to assure all
students achieve their maximum
potential.

Student Achievement in Diverse
Settings
|
 |
Faculty
combine their practical site
leadership experience along with
their research in the areas of
standards-based curriculum and
instruction; supervision that
supports differentiated instruction
in support of diverse learning
styles; and, the development,
implementation, and evaluation of
professional development that
supports standards-based curriculum
and instruction.
Faculty combine their practical site
leadership experience along with
their research in the areas of
resource management and in the
incorporation of families and
community members into the
decision-making of the school to
incorporate the goals and
aspirations of diverse family and
community groups. Faculty have
developed strategies and resources
for working with diverse language
groups through the use of state
adopted instructional materials.
They share and discuss systems that
assist with communicating with
multiple language communities, and
identify classroom resources,
teaching strategies and state
adopted texts that support English
language learners.

what time, circumstance, history,
has made of me, certainly, but I am

School
Leadership
|
 |
EAD faculty consult with
school districts in the
support of new school
leaders and improved student
achievement. Data and
findings obtained through
such mentoring, coaching,
advising, and support of new
school leaders have become
part of (anonymous) case
studies for use in
classrooms. Faculty have
presented findings in
professional journals,
national, state, and local
conferences. |
