Thus far the knowledge I’ve gained in 1 ½ classes has far surpassed my expectations. On the first day of class we were told that our thinking would change and as the year progressed we would gradually begin to think like administrators. Ever the skeptic I doubted in all sincerity that I could, in 1 year’s time, think as a principal. Was I ever wrong? The Vision course forced me to look at my school in an entirely different light. As the course progressed I began to notice aspects of our culture that weren’t as productive or positive as I had perceived in the past. I studied our staff and gained a whole new perspective on individuals and their motivations. I started closely examining decisions my principal makes and I’m constantly trying to discern the reasons why certain actions are taken. The Vision course gave me a new set of glasses and now my vision is clear and I can see without a cloud of fog. With each course the prescription gets better and the vision becomes clearer. I’m looking forward to the wealth of knowledge I know I will receive from the rest of the courses. Not only am I learning what it takes to become an administrator, I am also becoming a better teacher.”  N. S., Cohort Member 2006
