Non-university Activities
Candidates
engage in coursework,
non-university approved
development opportunities, and
fieldwork activities in which
they are expected to learn and
apply material that develops
their advanced knowledge and
skills with issues related to
teaching, learning, and
instructional leadership in
California’s many diverse school
settings. Candidates may propose
selection of non-university
development activities such as
district or county seminars,
workshops, or conferences to
meet part of their coursework
requirement and achieve
professional competency in one
or more CPSELs. Many candidates
in our program participate in
the Los Angeles Unified School
District Administrative Academy
which is aligned to the six
thematic areas per Standard 3.
The recommendations are reviewed
by university faculty and
fieldwork mentor; upon approval,
they become part of the
candidates Individual Induction
Plan (IIP).
