Erik Ernst, RN, FNP, MSN, MBA

Erik graduated with his MSN/FNP specialization in spring 2004. A resident of Anaheim, Erik is currently working at a Los Angeles urban hospital as a FNP in the hospital’s community clinic. There he sees patients across the age continuum with diverse physical and psychosocial diagnoses. Additionally, Erik is presently working per diem with several internal medicine physicians as a FNP. After completing his MBA in 1992 at Pepperdine University, Erik worked in the administration of a long-term facility for chronically mentally disordered adults. Erik believes that NSO plays an integral part in students’ ability to communicate ideas and concerns to CSUDH administration as well as to receive support and guidance during their CSUDH educational coursework. This is Erik’s second year as a NSO board member.

Wendie Silverman, RN, MSN

Wendie graduated with her MSN/Nurse Educator specialization in summer 2003. A resident of Berkeley, Wendie has shared her knowledge in different educational settings. After having taught at an Associate Degree Nursing program, Wendie became an Education Specialist at a recuperation skills training center. Her work there includes teaching fresh post-operative patients how to provide for their needs at home including administration of injections and surgical site drain maintenance. Additionally, Wendie holds weekly classes for pre-operative patients and instructs them on what to expect before, during, and after their surgery. Wendie believes that NSO Student Mentoring has a positive effect on students and encourages those students interested in seeking a mentor to take advantage of this service for support and reassurance while students pursue their educational goals. This is Wendie’s third year as a NSO board member.

Linda Marshall, RN, FNP, MSN

Linda graduated with her MSN/FNP specialization in December 2003. A resident of San Diego, Linda is currently working at a metropolitan San Diego hospital’s urgent care. Linda believes that NSO is an important resource for nursing students, providing support, mentoring, and continued communication with past and present CSUDH nursing students. This is Linda’s second year as a NSO board member.

NSO Treasurer
Pamela graduated with her MSN/FNP specialization in December 2003. Pamela also completed her BSN at CSUDH. Currently, she is working at a rural health clinic, specializing in family practice. Pamela believes that NSO can be an important tool for students to share information, learn leadership skills, and participate in conferences that will have a lasting impact on the student. Pamela mentors and precepts students with CSUDH. She is also a clinical instructor for California State University, Fresno. This is Pamela’s second year as a NSO board member.
