Student Rights and Responsibilities
The Student Development Office and Student Affairs coordinate the Student
Rights and Responsibilities Handbook and website. The Handbook is divided
into two volumes:
Volume I contains information on classroom rights and responsibilities
including a statement on plagiarism, perceived teaching effectiveness of
faculty, students’ rights to access to University records, student grade
appeals, grievance procedures, and appeal procedures for qualified people
denied admission to an academic program.
Volume II contains the standards of conduct expected of students the
Disciplinary Procedures for the California State University.
A Faculty Guide to Academic Integrity
The Student Development Office and Student Affairs publish the Faculty Guide
to Academic Integrity which is also available at the Student Rights and
Responsibilities website. The brochure contains information on how to
prevent, detect and address academic dishonesty.
