Donis Leonard, CSU Dominguez Hills associate professor of acting and speech, is a working actor with the Screen Actor’s Guild and Actor’s Equity Association. As a performer he has numerous professional theatre, film, and television credits, and also directs for the stage at Los Angeles area theatres. Professor Leonard is the founder and artistic director of the nationally recognized and award winning New African Grove Black theatre program. His directing credits include “The Heiress,” “Flyin’ West,” “Jitney,” “The Piano Lesson,” “Blues For an Alabama Sky,” “Zooman and the Sign,” and “A Raisin in the Sun.
