Cal State Dominguez Hills Cross Country Squad
was in action today at the CCAA Championships held on the campus
of UC San Diego.
The Toros took a sixth place finish out of 11
teams with a total score of 158. The championship was won by UC
Davis, who had four runners finish in the top five.
Senior Cambria D'Amico took a 13th place finish
on the day with a time of 23:13.20 on the 6,000 meter course. With
her performance today, D'Amico earned All-CCAA team accolades.
D'Amico has been the top finsiher for the Toros in every meet this
season.
Sophomore Aracne Hernandez had a strong meet,
finishing in 24th place, clocking a time of 24:04.10. Sophomore
Wendy Vallejo and freshman Yosie Castillo finished in 34th and
35th places with times of 24:30.80 and 24:35.60, respectively.
Junior Victoria Flores rounded out the top five for CSUDH, placing
52nd with a time of 25:12.00.
Junior Sherron Rhetta, freshman Pia Folsing and
sophomore Kendra Spratt also clocked solid times for the Toros.
Next up for CSUDH is the NCAA West Regionals,
held on November 3rd.
