CARSON,
Calif.-Cal State Dominguez Hills head baseball coach George Wing
and his wife Rody will receive special recognition when he is
honored this Friday night at the COaches of INfluence (COIN)
banquet to be held at the Crystal Cathedral.
The 3rd Annual COIN banquet honors coaches
viewed as positive role models and that are making a difference
with those whom they influence. The keynote speaker is Bill
McCartney, the former University of Colorado head football coach
and President of Promise Keepers.
"This is truly an honor for me,"
states Wing. "Coaching and teaching the game of baseball is a
pleasure, but what really makes it all worth while is knowing you
are making a difference in the lives of the kids you coach."
Also being honored along with coach Wing is Al
and Phyllis Norquist of Moorpark College, Tony and Julia Peralta
of Lake Elsinore High School and Mike and Melinda Sanford of the
San Diego Chargers.
Wing begins his 14th season at the helm of the
Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball program. Last year, he became
the school's all-time winningest coach and currently has 329
career wins at the Carson campus.
The banquet is set to begin at 7 PM this
Friday, February 15 at the Crystal Cathedral Arboretum located at
12141 Lewis St, Garden Grove, CA.
