CARSON, Calif.-The Cal State Dominguez Hills
softball team has been picked to finish sixth this season,
according to a poll of the league's head coaches released
Thursday. The Toros, who are off to an 6-5 overall and 2-2 CCAA
start this season, received 32 points.
Defending CCAA champion UC Davis is expected to
repeat , as the Aggies received five first place votes and 61
total points. Close behind, expected to finish second is CS
Bakersfield. The Roadrunners were given four first place votes and
57 points.
UC San Diego, Chico State and Cal State
Stanislaus were picked to finish in third, fourth and fifth places
before CSUDH. CS San Bernardino, San Francisco State and Sonoma
State close out the poll expected to finish seventh, eighth and
ninth.
Last season, CSUDH finished fifth with a 16-6
CCAA record. The 2001 Toros tied a CSUDH record for most wins in a
season with a 36-27 overall record. The Toros return 11 players
from last year's squad. |
