HONOLULU, HI--The Cal State Dominguez Hills
baseball team swept past Hawaii-Pacific 7-6 and 14-4 in
doubleheader non-conference action to close out the five-game
series this week. The victories gave the Toros four wins in the
5-game set.
In the first game, 1B Danny Jacobs knocked in
the winning run on an RBI single to right field to give CSUDH a
7-6 win. RHP Harry Trejo earned the win in relief. He is now 1-0
on the year.
In the nightcap, LF Mike Roux and C Edgar
Esqueda led a 19-hit attack with three hits a piece to propel the
Toros to a 14-4 romp over the Sea Warriors. Roux and Esqueda each
had 2 RBI as did DH Frank Perez who also went 2-4 at the plate.
RHP Aldo Silva gained his fourth win on the season.
CSUDH (16-11-1) returns to the mainland to take
on Biola University on Wednesday, Mar. 20. First pitch is set for
2 PM.
