The Cal State Dominguez Hills softball team was
looking to rebound after a 1-2 outing on Day One of the Tournament
of Champions, hosted by Cal State Stanislaus. The Toros were
facing the host Warriors in action today, looking to redeem
themselves after dropping two of their three games yesterday.
CSUDH was unable to do so, dropping the 1-4
decision to CSUS. The Toros were held to three hits on the day,
with two of those coming off the bat of senior 3B Ro Lutz. Lutz
had a double on the day, her second of tournament action.
The Toros opened things up with a run in the
fourth inning, but that would be the end of the scoring. The
Warriors put together back to back two -run innings to post the
4-1 win. Senior hurler Patrina Smith was charged the loss in the
game, going 4 and 1/3 innings for CSUDH. CSUDH fell to 1-3 in
tournament action.
The Toros now post a 23-14 overall record. They
will return to CCAA action next week as they host Chico State and
UC Davis.
