Baseball Remains Perfect with Win Over Cal Baptist, 8-0

RIVERSIDE, Calif.--Senior outfielder Joe Gevas went 4-for-5 at the plate, including leading off the game with his third home run of the year, to lead Cal State Dominguez Hills to an 8-0 non-conference win over Cal Baptist. The win keeps the Toros perfect on the year at 3-0.

Today marked the 14-year anniversary of head coach George Wing's first CSUDH career victory. Wing chalked up his first win on Feb. 6, 1989 in a 12-4 decision over Arizona in his Toro debut. The win today also gave Wing, the all-time winningest coach in Toros history, his 360th career-win.

Toro starting pitcher Larry Robles (1-0) pitched the first seven shutout innings to earn his first win in a CSUDH uniform.

Cal State Dominguez Hills is back in non-conference action on Saturday, travelling to La Mirada to take on Biola University. First pitch is set for noon.
