Complete Box Score

CARSON, Calif.--The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team scored two second period goals to beat visiting Sonoma State University 2-0 Sunday afternoon in California Collegiate Athletic Association at Toro Field.

CSUDH is riding a seven match unbeaten streak and have now won two games in a row. The Toros are 11-4-1 overall and 7-2-1 in CCAA conference play. Sonoma State drops to 8-5-1 and 5-4-1 in league action.

After a scoreless first half, freshman Tara Senff (Palos Verdes, CA/So. Torrance HS) put Cal State Dominguez Hills up 1-0 in the 46th minute taking a pass from Monique Castro (San Diego, CA/Mira Mesa HS) inside the box and beat SSU goalie Adena Miller from point-blank to the near post.

In the 57th minute, Rachele McDonald (Ventura, CA/Buena HS) gave the Toros some cushion with her team-leading 11th goal of the year. McDonald cleaned up a shot by Katie Roche (Cerritos, CA/Costa Mesa HS), taking the rebound off the goalie at the mouth of the goal and knocked the ball to the back of the net for the 2-0 final.

The Toros defense staved off a few rallies by the Seawolves, and goalie Mallory Dominguez (San Pedro, CA/Mary Star of the Sea HS) played solid in the net registering two saves in the match to record the shutout.

In the match, CSUDH played most of the time in the Sonoma defensive third outshooting them 23-9.
