PASO ROBLES Cal State San Bernardino
fired a collective one-over par total of 577 Monday to take the
lead in the California Collegiate Athletic Association golf
tournament by seven shots over Cal State Stanislaus.
The 54-hole tournament at Hunter Ranch Golf
Club concludes Tuesday.
The Toros are looking up at the other teams,
currently residing in last place. Joey Craft, at 161, is leading
the CSUDH efforts, and L.C. Honore, Jr. is a shot back.
Eric Justesen knocked in seven birdies and an
eagle on the par-5 17th hole to earn his nine-under par 63 and
take a four-shot lead in the individual scoring. However, since
his team, Cal State Monterey Bay, is a provisional first-year
member of the CCAA, he will not be eligible for tournament honors.
Chris Massolletti of Chico State is second at
five-under par 139 after a second round 67 followed by Mark Baker
of Cal State Bakersfield, in at 140 after a second-round 67.
