Bakersfield, CA -- Junior linkster Matt
Giamberdino (Torrance, CA/Torrance HS) shot an 85 Monday
afternoon to tie for 62nd at the CSUB Spring Invitational Golf
Tournament, presented by Pinnacle Financial and Communications
Services. Giamberdino led the Cal State Dominguez Hills to a 15th
place position amongst 15 schools competing, including six of the
top 18 teams in NCAA Division II, along with a team from UCLA.
Due to strong and gusty winds, Monday's
afternoon round was scrubbed, and the tournament will finish with
18 holes on Tuesday, weather permitting.
Kevin Shimomura of Hawaii-Hilo was the only
golfer to break par, finishing at one-under 71. Cal State San
Bernardino, which did not place a golfer in the top five, managed
a one-stroke lead with an aggregate score of 310, while the host
'Runners are in second place at 311.
Other CSUDH results are: Niraj Dhruv (81st,
85), Miguel Saucedo (T82nd, 95), Shaun Vickers (T82nd, 95). |
