freshman Miguel Saucedo (Culver City, CA/Culver City HS)
finished the 33rd Annual Buzzini/Stanislaus Golf Invitational
where he began, pacing CSUDHs linksters and concluding the
tournament tied for 87th place. As a team, the Toros posted a
19th-place finish as the two-day Tournament came to a close.
The Culver City native fired a 17-over 89 on
the final day of the tourney after ending yesterday with rounds of
79 and 82, good for an overall aggregate of 250.
CS Bakersfields D.J. Fernando took the
individual title with a final score of 216, while the CS
Stanislaus duo of Ryan Thornberry and Matt Hollinsead tied for
runner-up honors, each shooting a 1-over 217 for the tournament to
lead the hosts to an aggregate of 878, 18 strokes ahead of the
runner-up Runners.
Junior Chris Whitaker (Inglewood,
CA/Westchester HS) tallied the best round of the day for the
Toros, shooting a 13-over par 85 in the final round of the
tournament, good for an overall 94th place finish and score of
266.
Other CSUDH results are: Shaun Vickers (95th -
90, 94, 91, 275), Matt Giamberdino (96th - 93, 89, 95, 277).
The Toros conclude their golf season next
weekend at the CCAA Championships, hosted by UC San Diego in Paso
Robles, California. |
