Pomona, CA April Panteau (Long
Beach, CA/Long Beach Community College), Grace Fitchett
(Los Angeles, CA/Paramount HS), and Brandy Zeigler (Los
Angeles, CA/West L.A. City College) all posted top 10 finishes
at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
Panteau broke the tape in the 400-meter dash in
a time of 57.73, finishing in 3rd place, ahead of runners from
Division I schools Northern Arizona, UC Santa Barbara, CS
Fullerton and UC Riverside among others.
Fitchett grabbed a 5th place finish in the
100-meter dash in a time of 12.38, while Zeigler finished 8th in a
time of 12.48. Both runners were less than a half second off the
provisional qualifying time of 12.10 needed to qualify for a bid
to the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The Toros Outdoor Track & Field team will
next be in action tomorrow at the Mt. SAC Relays, hosted Mt. San
Antonio College in Walnut, CA. |
